about

We are two brothers from Illinois creating punk/pop to raise money for various charitable organizations. Drums for this track were recorded by Jono Diener (The Swellers, No Trigger) as part of beats for bail to raise money to combat racial disparities in the bail system. We will be donating all profits from this single to the same charity.

lyrics

Oh. Consider it trying.
It’s the best that I can do with what I have.
It’s called unsettled bets no matter how I look at it.
And I’m not ready yet to pay.

I’m told. It’s simply not time yet.
Reluctance, see don’t easy melt away.
Caught between a rock and my own teeth again.
I said that I was ready, I meant that I was weak.

I was wrong. When’s the last time someone’s seen you smile and recognized that you’re just barely hanging on? Off and on, assume and answer. Can’t make amends with double standards. Second guessing, I know that I was wrong.

And I'm not buying.
A decade fades and clearly I'm to blame.
Once burned bright is just barely holding flame.
I’m short on butane gases, but I'm surplus stocked on shame.

I was wrong. When’s the last time someone’s seen you smile and recognized that you’re just barely hanging on? Off and on, assume and answer. Can’t make amends with double standards. Second guessing, I know that I was wrong.

I was wrong. When’s the last time someone’s seen you smile and recognized that you’re just barely hanging on? Off and on, assume and answer. Can’t make amends with double standards. Second guessing, I know that I was wrong.
